About H-Town Pallet Racking

H-Town Pallet Racking is a brand of Alliance Material Handling, Inc., a Maryland corporation that has been putting equipment into warehouses since 1955. That is more than 70 years in material handling. We do not have a Houston office or a storefront here, and we would rather say so up front than let you find out later. What we bring is the experience, the suppliers and the crews to get your rack designed, permitted and standing.

The towns we cover are not one market. Sugar Land, Richmond and Fulshear sit in the Fort Bend growth belt, where new tilt-wall buildings keep going up along the Grand Parkway and US-59. The Woodlands and Magnolia to the north are a mix of corporate campuses, suppliers and newer light-industrial parks. Channelview and Mont Belvieu run along the Ship Channel and the petrochemical storage hub, and the Bay Area towns, Webster, League City, Friendswood, Texas City and down to Galveston and Freeport, live with salt air, port freight and storm season.

Three conditions come up on nearly every job. The floor: much of the inland Houston area sits on Beaumont Formation clay that swells in wet months and shrinks in dry ones, so slabs shift and frames lean in patterns that follow the ground. The coast: near Galveston Bay and the Gulf, humid salt air works on bare steel, anchors and hardware faster than it does inland, and hurricane season is part of the plan. The paperwork: Texas has no statewide commercial building-code enforcement, so the permit rules come from whichever city or county you are in, and they differ.

So we start every project the same way. We find out who has jurisdiction, look hard at the slab, ask what the product is and where it came from, and then draw the rack. From there our crews handle layout, stamped engineering, permit support, installation, relocation and repair, and we set up an ANSI/RMI inspection schedule you can keep.
